Sorry, no festivals here.
The nation of Bulgaria has been a crossroads between the Middle East and Europe since the Neolithic period. It’s been subject to many rulers–near and far. Both traits lend themselves to a country that’s blended cultures for years. It’s largely an Orthodox Christian state. Thus, many festivals revolve around the church. The majority of Bulgarian festivals occur in the warmer months from May to September. Though, inconspicuous in the festival world, Bulgaria likes to celebrate and commemorate its history and its people.
