Best Faire Ever
What I love about this Faire is the fact that everyone in your family can enjoy this outing! Some other place we've visited didn't have much for children to do and there was such "baudy" interaction with the people working there, that I was embarrassed by the behaviors.
The children love the fact that they can participate in games. The jousting is exciting and it was such a special touch that the winning Knight gave his trophy garland to a young "princess" in the audience ! She was sooo impressed!
The falconer has the most beautiful birds. The largest owl I've ever seen as well as an unusual bird from South America. There are only 6 in the US. AND you can get very close and see them. He uses people from the audience in his performance, which is a thrill!
You feel very safe and comfortable in this peaceful, beautiful setting. There's lots of open areas for the "knights in training" to play with their shields and wooden swords. It is so accessible, we saw a lady in costume, on her motorized wheel chair (which she decorated to look like a Dragon) and she was able to get to everything in the faire. The entertainment is wonderful and the food is very good and reasonable. The entry fee is very reasonable - and you can spend the entire day there.
It's even more fun if you dress up!
The "Lady of the Faire", Adi DiShion is wonderful at managing all this and making sure everyone has a great time. We will be attending every year!
