Bahía de Santiago|Cosmic Convergence Festival, Santiago, Guatemala | Map
People from all over the world journey to Guatemala for the annual Cosmic Convergence Festival. Your best bet is to fly into Guatemala City or take a bus in from San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. If you’re flying, the organizers highly recommend you take the Cosmic Transport shuttle service, which brings you directly to the festival.
This is primarily a camping festival. You can bring your own tent or rent one from the festival, which you must purchase as an add-on to your ticket. You can also rent a tent at the gate box office if there are any available. If you don’t want to camp, your best bet is to find a hotel in nearby Santiago, which is a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride from the festival.
Cosmicas are the official currency of the festival. You need Cosmicas to purchase food and drinks at the Main Bar, stage bars, the cafe lounge, the festival boutique and restaurant.
Cosmic Convergence entirely benefits local indigenous communities. Each year, it hosts a building project where builders use the festival’s materials and stages to create school gardens, classrooms, community centers, etc.
