Everfest's Take

From the Organizer

Always held the 2nd FULL weekend in October, the Floresville Peanut Festival is a grand celebration recognizing the importance of the peanut to the Southwest Texas agriculture. We are proud of our heritage of the peanut in our city/county and having Elizabeth Sheehy and Governor John B. Connally as Queen Tunaep I and King Reboog I. The festival features up and coming bands for entertainment, there is a beer garden for all to enjoy some of the local brews sold by the festival. Our 3-day carnival is fun for all ages with arm bands for each day or multiple days. On Tuesday we kick it off with Goober Games for the kids! Royalty shines bright with the coronation of Queen Tunaep (peanut spelled backwards) and King Reboog (goober spelled backwards) and the Court to reign over the Peanut Festival on Thursday. Friday we have a kiddie parade for our the little ones to shine in their own floats. Our grand parade is Saturday morning with a line-up full of local bands and surrounding area floats and school organizations winding through Downtown Floresville streets. Saturday after the parade is filled with entertainment for everyone to enjoy their time in Historic Downtown Floresville. There is a Friday and Saturday night street dance FREE for everyone to come and gather together to listen to awesome music and have a great time. There are food booths which line the streets who offer the finest in festival food. This is one festival where you COME HERE....GO NUTS!!!!!
