Everfest's Take

From the Organizer

Make a date with discovery at Imperial Festival - a free weekend of exciting science, new technology, live music, fascinating talks, creative workshops and tasty freshly cooked grub! Register here to enter a competition to tour our historic tower and take home various #impfest goodies Want to journey to the edge of our galaxy, age 50 years in a matter of seconds, land a virtual reality plane, battle the superbugs that live on your toilet, or get behind the wheel of a sun powered racing car? Then join us for this annual opportunity to go behind the scenes of a word class university and peak into the future through its ground-breaking research. Imperial Festival has something for all ages to enjoy, from young children ready to be inspired by the latest in scientific discoveries, to adults looking to get up to date with medical advances and new technology whilst enjoying delicious food and a variety of music and dance performances. This year’s Festival includes a brand new Food zone showcasing the scientific revolution taking place from farm to fork. It will include scientists working to improve eating through wider sensory experiences, or make cheese creamier through physics, whilst savings the planet (and our pollinating bees) from environmental change, and our waistlines from an obesity crisis. If that wasn’t enough, this year we are running a competition giving one lucky person the opportunity to officially open the Festival, take home a bag of Impfest goodies, and escape the Festival crowds with a guided tour up the 324 steps of our usually off-limits historic Queen’s Tower to sample views across the Capital. To be in with a chance of winning simply register here. For all the latest news, sneak previews and behind the scenes photos, you can follow the Festival build up on Facebook and Twitter. And don't forget to share your experiences using the Festival hashtag #impfest. When: Saturday 6 May 12.00 – 18.00 Sunday 7 May 12.00 – 17.00 Where: Imperial’s South Kensington Campus, Exhibition Road, London, SW7 2AZ (please see the online map) The nearest tube stations are South Kensington or Gloucester Road.
