ROSEWOOD ART AND MUSIC FESTIVAL NEWS There’s So Much To Do at the ROSEWOOD ART AND MUSIC FESTIVAL 8th annual Rosewood Art and Music Festival September 29, 2018 11am-7pm Rockaways 2719 Rosewood Drive Columbia, SC 29205 Festival Director: Dave Britt RosewoodFestival.com contact@RosewoodFestival.com Columbia, SC — Columbia’s micro urban festival, Rosewood Art & Music Festival is a nonprofit, one-day, free admission, outdoor festival. On Saturday September 29th 2018, thousands of visitors will descend into the Rosewood Neighborhood to enjoy a day filled with visual arts and multiple stages of live music and entertainment. Sit and listen, grab your dance shoes or simply enjoy the sounds as you take in the visual arts and celebrate southern arts and culture. The 8th annual Rosewood Art and Music Festival has plenty to see & do. With new hours from 11am to 7pm there will be interactive artistic opportunities for people of all ages and skill-sets to create, observe, collect and celebrate. Exhibiting artists, both homegrown and from around the country will be showing original works of art, with a price range to appeal to every type of collector, from avid to newbie. The competitive fine arts pop-up gallery features unique two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art. Jury Show participants will be competing for a share of more than $2000 in prize money. New to the festival this year is a poetry contest and a communal visual arts tent. This shared space is to give an opportunity to artists that may be new to the festival scene, have a smaller body of work , or may prefer to live paint. Applications open June 1. Review Categories and Rules online at RosewoodFestival.com Organizers create a comprehensive, multi-layered marketing/publicity campaign that draws more than 5,000 attendees from SC, NC, Tennessee and Georgia. Volunteers with the Columbia Opportunity Resource are on hand throughout the day. The festival also supports the Epworth Children’s Home with an on-site booth and the always entertaining free “paint the dumpster”. The festival is dedicated to promoting the Rosewood area by enriching the community identity through a celebration of the arts. It is put on by The Greater Rosewood Merchants’ Association, a non profit organization. Admission is free and open to the public with plenty of free parking.
