Enjoy a spectacular evening that mixes the sounds, samba and feathers of Brazilian Carnaval and the carefree spirit of Mardi Gras. Entertainment includes Show Brazil! , Eduardo Mendonça, Show Brazil Dancers, featuring dancers and percussion, Costume Contest and more! Brazilian Carnaval 25th Anniversary. Let's Celebrate!!! Celebrating 25 years of tradition and authenticity. Show Brazil! is the longest running Brazilian Carnaval celebration in the Pacific Northwest. Celebrate with Eduardo Mendonça, the Show Brazil! band & non-stop Carnaval music & dancing at The Crocodile/ Live on Saturday, FMarch 09, 2018 from 8:30 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. MENDONÇA’ Internationally recognized and respected Show Brazil!, well known throughout the Northwest for events such as Bumbershoot and BrasilFest, has delighted audiences in the United States, Brazil, Nepal, and Canada for nearly twenty-four years. The ensemble features accomplished performers from Seattle and Brazil. Are you ready for our 25th Annual Brazilian Carnaval/Mardi Gras Show Brazil!'s band is known to feature in one night, the Brazilian Carnaval music and dance from each region of Brazil. Eduardo Mendonça, a native of Brazil throughout his travels in the US, Canada, Nepal and Brazil, the talented musician, composer, arranger, and musical director has explored the many and varied genres of Brazilian popular music, entertaining such notable personalities as the 14th Dalai Lama, Pope John Paul II, and former South Africa President Nelson Mandela. Mendonça appeared in the PBS “American Masters” documentary: “Paul Simon: Born at the Right Time” which aired in 1993. In May 2016, Eduardo performed as guest artist with the jointly sponsored Seattle Symphony-Carnegie Hall project “Link Up: The Orchestra Moves,” exploring the creative process of this passionate composer through melody and motif. Eduardo offers a unique and pleasurable musical experience and his performances never fail to enlighten and entertain multi-generational audiences about music theory, history, and investigation. As Paul de Barros of The Seattle Times observes, “Seattle is lucky to have Mendonça in the neighborhood”. Ana Paula Mendonça ( Event Producer - Booking Agent ) as a woman and immigrant, and Eduardo as an African-American man and immigrant representing in Seattle, a minority working hard and surpassing challenges to keep alive the diversity of Brazilian culture in the Pacific Northwest since 1995.
