Getting There
The Minneapolis Convention Center is located in Loring Park, a public park and neighborhood in the southwest corner of downtown. Tucked away in the Upper Midwest region, you’ll want to hop on a flight to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. From there, you can rely on the city’s public transit including light rail, buses and cabs to get around. If below-freezing temperatures intimidate you, then you’re in luck, because the city’s climate-controlled skyway system connects the Convention Center to many other locations downtown. If you’re within driving distance to Minneapolis, the Convention Center has heated underground parking ramps for your car.
Lodging
Don’t worry; lodging here is just as warm as Snowta’s dance floor. And since you’ll be in the Twin Cities, that means double the hotels, Airbnbs and other options. However, it being New Years sometimes makes the hunt for a place to stay a little more challenging. Do your research to find affordable rooms, but reserve them as soon as possible so you aren’t left out in the cold.
Food and Drinks
If you expel all your energy at the festival, you’ll have plenty of options to refuel before the clock strikes twelve. There will be food vendors, beer, wine, liquor and champagne available.
Minnesota Cold
Even though you’ll be dancing indoors and using the city’s skyways, pack your warmest winter clothing anyway. Minnesota weather is brutal this time of year, and you don’t want to get caught outside when the wind picks up. Check the local weather forecast frequently and prepare accordingly.
