Getting There
Chances are you’re coming from some place that’s not Portugal. Faro Airport and Lisbon International Airport are the closest to Portimão (45 minutes and 2h 30 minutes by car, respectively). From Faro airport, you can rely on public transport including bus, taxi or car rental to get you to the festival. From Lisbon, car rentals are your best bet.
Lodging
Given its prosperous tourism industry, there are plenty of hotel accommodations in Portimão and Lagoa. However, the region’s lengthy beach season will drive prices much higher. You don’t really need a five-star hotel because you’ll be spending most of your time out on the beach, so consider shacking up in a hostel or look for a local host on Airbnb. You can also check out travel packages on the festival website.
Buy Tickets Early
You’re in competition with the entire planet here. Check The BPM Festival website for tickets, updated lineups and venues to plan travel and party-hopping.
Travel Freedom
Depending on where you’re coming from, you may need a VISA, passport or other documentation to enter Portugal. Check to see if your country has a Traveler’s Checklist so you’re prepared to travel without hassle.
Future Plans
The BPM Festival: Portugal is not a relocation and does not replace the 10-day edition of The BPM Festival. The BPM Festival: Portugal is part of the festival's global expansion plans that were announced during BPM MX 2017. For the January 2019 edition, fans should stay tuned for announcements on a new beachside location, lineups and much more.
