Named after the title of Jack Kerouac's first major published work, The Town and The City Festival is inspired by the creativity and exploration for which Kerouac was so famously known. The diverse mix of musical genres and artistic disciplines represented in the festival will inspire discovery and celebrate the love of life. For 2023 - Venues hosting The Town and The City Festival include Warp & Weft, Mill No. 5, Zorba Music Hall, Christ Church United, Gallery Z, Taffeta at Western Ave. Studios, and The Old Court among many others. The festival features both locally based and national touring acts. Two-day passes and one-day passes are made available as well as a limited number of individual show tickets. Tickets for the 2023 edition of the festival will go on sale in the fall. “I am devoted to Lowell and love the idea of adding a significant event that heightens Lowell’s reputation as a major arts and music community in the vibrant New England landscape,” said festival promoter, Chris Porter, a Lowell native. “Bringing a unique and diverse festival event to a region that has a relatively limited number of festivals is a true labor of love for me. To have this event stand alongside the Lowell Folk Festival, the Lowell Summer Music Series at Boarding House Park, and other great area events will be an honor.” Much more information can be found at www.thetownandthecityfestival.com
