Seating Strategy
If you prefer to sit in the stands to watch some (or all) of the parade, bring cash and get there early. The best seats fill up early, and they’re not always free. That said, plenty of people drape themselves over statues to get a free (and high) vantage point.
Try New Things
From barbecue stands along the parade route to fried dough to luscious cemita sandwiches in local markets, try some new culinary treats when in Puebla. The city is known as the home of mole poblano and chiles en nogada.
Wander
Don’t keep your eyes only on the parade route. Puebla is filled with incredible food and architectural highlights, so put the map down and take a stroll. It's a great addendum to your Mexican history lesson.
Getting There
The closest airport is Puebla is Hermanos Serdán International Airport (PBC). Next closest is Juarez International (MEX) in Mexico City. If you choose to fly into Mexico City and you’re not renting a car, the best bet is to take the airport express bus service to get to Puebla. The city itself is easy to walk, so unless you’re taking day trips there’s no need for a rental car.
