Meet locals and mingle
Some reports indicate that about 90% of Colours attendees arrive from nearby countries, meaning travelers wishing to mingle with Eastern Europeans, rather than other tourists, will be rather pleased. Reports on the festival have cited the diversity of attendees in terms of age and walk-of-life as among its chief assets.
Participation, not passivity
One hallmark of Colours is its emphasis on workshops, meaning debate, motion, and learning is as important as observation. In that spirit, there are plenty of accommodations for families, including the elderly and the very young.
Act Fast
In recent years, tickets have sold out within a month of the festival itself, so plan for passes, campsite accommodations, and parking permits accordingly. Fortunately, all of these things are priced quite low.
