Pack wet weather gear
Fuji Rock is infamous for being a wet festival. Most years have experienced rain at some point, so be sure to pack a raincoat and gumboots as umbrellas are prohibited at the venue.
Don't miss the opening party
On the night before the festival, there is a free opening party featuring traditional Japanese folk dancing, local food stalls and a fireworks display.

If you plan to camp, arrive early
The campsite is located on a steep golf course near the foot of the mountain. Arrive early to secure a flat patch of ground to set up your tent.
International festivalgoers should fly into Tokyo
To either Narita International Airport (NRT) or Haneda Tokyo International Airport (HND). Take the Joetsu Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station to JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Be sure to reserve a seat in advance for this high-speed journey of around 15 hours From Yuzawa, there is a free shuttle for ticket holders departing the station, which takes approximately 40 minutes to get to the festival grounds. Parking is also available for those looking to drive to the festival and costs 3,000 Yen (approximately $30 USD) per day.
