Have breakfast for dinner
With all-night music performances, your circadian rhythms might be a bit out-of-whack. If you find yourself craving eggs-over-easy at midnight, there are 24-hour vendors who will cheerfully serve you breakfast then.
Eat a Jerry Roll
This jumbo egg roll was named after the Grateful Dead’s leadman, Jerry Garcia. What’s inside? Veggies, soy sauce, Sriracha, and duck sauce. Carnivores can add pork, chicken, or lamb.
Make time for Fayetteville
Forty miles from town, Wakarusa’s organizer Brett Mosiman recommends Dickson Street for lots of great restaurants and bars. A weekend on the Buffalo River is also on his list.
Where To Stay
Since the festival grounds are remote, most festival-goers choose to camp on-site. There are a variety of camping packages (none included in the event pass), including the most basic “Riverside Camping,” which is 3-miles away with a shuttle to the festival grounds. For a closer and shadier locale, opt for “West Woods Camping.” To camp in the heart of the action, reserve a spot at “Main Venue Camping.” If you prefer a hotel, Wakarusa offers hotel packages in Fayetteville on their website.
Need a Break?
Should you crave a dose of urban-amenities during the festival, the Ozark Shuttle will deliver you to the City of Ozark where you can stock up on creature comforts.
Weather
Be prepared for the gamut of weather conditions. Hot days yield to cool nights, and there is a definite possibility of rain. In 2013, festival-goers held down their tent poles through an unforgettable all-night storm. They celebrated their tenacity with Bloody Marys in the morning.
