The luscious green hills and gray skies are iconic in Ireland. I’d be remissed if I didn’t mention that the bagpipe AND the kilt are actually Irish. At least, that’s what one ornery tour guide hammered to my head at the Cliffs of Moher. You be judge. The Irish are lovely people. They gleefully chat with you. They’ll spit on their native sports teams when they’re down and boast nonstop when they win. The Emerald Isle is home to the o.g. St. Patrick’s day. They have jazz festivals. They celebrate ancient Gaelic festivals like Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. It’s ok, we don’t know how to say it either.
