Sorry, no festivals here.
You don’t have to be in France to hit up a Bastille Day celebration. And that’s pretty awesome. The French National Holiday that honors the 1789 storming of the Bastille is a pretty big deal. Festivals in the day’s honor feature everything from French food to French films. Bastille Day celebrations happen all over the world—from Bastille Day Fête in New Orleans to La Fête Nationale in Paris. But Bastille Day celebrations aren’t the only type of French festivals. Other French festivals take place outside of July (the month Bastille Day is celebrated), such as the COLCOA French Film Festival in Los Angeles and Festival of French Classical Music in Mountain View California. Lucky for us, French culture has spread far beyond Europe.
