Winter typically entails white snow, holiday cheer and the warm glow of lights around the world. While Christmas is technically a one-day affair (despite decorations appearing on retail shelves as early as September), the “Festival of Lights” burns brightly for eight whole days. Adam Sandler’s goofy “Hanukkah Song” doesn’t even begin to describe the well-known Jewish holiday, which commemorates the Maccabees’ retaking of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. That surely calls for a celebration! The Hanukkah festival scene is filled to the brim with delicious food fried in olive oil, nightly gifts, the lighting of the menorah and many other exciting activities. Chag sameach!
