Due to COVID-19, all festival information may not be up to date. However, we are maintaining a comprehensive list of festival cancellations here.
South Korea is unique in its scheduling method for festivals. They are divided by months according to the lunar calendar. In the first month, you can see farmers whirling cans of fire to celebrate the full moon. In the sixth month, you can dispel bad spirits with a bath in a creek and rid yourself of past woes. The last month, you can ring in another year with a feast to ward off any bad spirits. Though it may seem like there are an awful lot of malicious ghouls wandering about, you’ll find yourself enjoying these wonderful events over ensuring your paranormal safety.
