Euphoria Music and Camping Festival took place April 10-12 on the banks of the Colorado River, just outside of downtown Austin, Texas. The crowds gathered at Carson Creek Ranch for 3 days of music, nature, art and good vibes. Here are 10 euphoric moments from this year's fest that'll have you packing your dancing shoes and a tent for 2016's event in no time:
1. Chill Crowd Vibes
Ask any festival-goer: it’s all about the crowd. The people of Euphoria were lively, relaxed and ready to dance. The festival welcomed over 10,000 music lovers into the spacious venue, allowing ample room for all.
2. A Groovy EDM Lineup
Euphoria’s lineup included DJ favorites like RL Grime and Adventure Club, but also brought out dozens of funk and groove acts. The vibes differed at each of the stages, and Euphorians enjoyed the ebb and flow of high-energy tunes to chill beats. Live acts like Big Gigantic dropped the funky, jazzy bass at the main stage, while Lane 8 serenaded the trance lovers gathered to shuffle in the amphitheater.
3. Swoonworthy Scenery
Patches of bluebonnets and wildflowers adorned the fields, hammocks swayed among the trees, and Euphorians grooved along the Colorado River. The amphitheater stage was draped with greenery and overlooked serene waters.
4. A Chance to Relax
The festival emphasized a connection with nature and encouraged guests to relax among the trees. Between high-energy performances, festival goers could migrate to one of the many chill spots inside the grounds. The amphitheater along the river hosted mellow and groovy sets, while the festival’s art area offered a serene space for yoga, a quiet moment, or making a new friend.
5. Plenty of New Things to Try
Dozens of workshops took place throughout the weekend: skilled hula hoopers passed on their knowledge, glass blowers demonstrated their trade, while discussions were conducted on healthy living.
6. Enjoy a Ton of Room to Dance
The venue setup allowed for lots of room to groove, lay down and lounge, or string up a hammock. The space handled the crowds well, and a nice view of the stage wasn’t hard to find.
7. All Kinds of Art Immersion
The festival hosted exhibitions of art in all forms: paintings, sculpture, dance, even acro-yoga. Interactive installations dotted the landscape, and dancers and performers wandered among the crowd. An art gallery welcomed guests while yoga classes took place in the grass.
8. Good Camping Vibes
Campers at Euphoria had to trek just 5 minutes to the festival from the maze of tents. Cheery people roamed the grounds, mingled with neighbors and swayed to acoustic jams.
9. All-Night Parties
Euphorians had access to all the late-night luxuries any camping raver could wish for. In addition to the 3 main stages, campers enjoyed 2 late-night stages, tons of hammocks and floating tents, and food vendors open ‘til dawn.
10. A Chance to Explore Austin
Aside from the festival, the city of Austin offers a ton of adventures. The Baylor Street Art Wall downtown flaunted the work of the city’s thriving art scene. Hamilton Pool Preserve is a great place to hike a scenic trail along a creek, picnic, and explore a swimming hole and waterfall surrounded by a collapsed grotto. Tex Mex, at food joints like Torchy’s Tacos, is a necessity for anyone exploring Austin.
