On Super Sunday in NOLA, the famed Mardi Gras Indian tribes put on their elaborate dress and peacocked out in Central City's A.L. Davis Park – the city's biggest Super Sunday celebration. When the "Big Chiefs" of rival tribes meet, elaborate rituals are exchanged, such as colorful dances, chants and other rituals. At one time these standoffs were tense affairs, but now Super Sunday is a friendly, multicultural gathering for all. Enjoy the photos we took in A.L. Davis Park over the weekend.
