Arizona is a natural setting for a major music festival; with toasty temps and unrelenting sunshine, it's got plenty of music-loving young people and it's easy to access. That's why it comes as no surprise that the state – and the city of Phoenix, in particular – have entered the crosshairs of festival mega-producer Superfly, also known as the purveyors of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands

Superfly announced today that Lost Lake Festival is in the works, to be held in Steele Indian School Park on October 20 - 22. The New York-based company has been in talks with the city for two years. In the announcement video above you will see that more than 40 musical acts will be named in the coming weeks, as well as culinary, arts and gaming activities. With Superfly behind this, you can sure that internationally known acts will top the bill.

Bizjournals.com reports that Superfly was in the market for a new fest in multiple places around the U.S. "We've gone all over the country and the world looking for sites, and this park is one of the best we've ever seen," Superfly co-founder Rick Farman told the website.

"We've experienced firsthand that Phoenix has an amazing culinary scene, and we've been so impressed by the breadth, diversity and level of the arts here," he continued. "I think we've all really felt something special happening in this city and this region."

It's clear that the arts scene in Phoenix will see a boost thanks to Lost Lake Festival – and we wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the state (Tucson, anyone?) follows suit. All hail Arizona as the next festival destination!

Stay tuned for updates on who will play the inaugural Lost Lake Festival, coming in the next few months.
