Art Basel is without a doubt is the ultimate destination this winter. Since we already have your art game on lock, let us give you some suggestions for the hottest music events and parties taking place during this week-long celebration of creativity. 

Tuesday, December 2nd

Solange Knowles Presents for SELECT Art Fair
North Shore Bandshell: 7275 Collins Ave.

Multitalented artist (and yes, Beyonce's sister) Solange Knowles will be performing and curating the main stage lineup for the duration of SELECT Art Fair this year. The lineup has yet to be announced, but coming from head of Saint Heron Records we can expect some interesting, electronic R&B tunes from her roster of genre-defying artists. Admission is free, so come early!

10 Years of Martin Buttrich & Pete Tong by Link Miami Rebels Art Basel Edition

Roll call for all true house heads in Miami! After 20 years producing countless dance floor bangers and even earning a Grammy nomination, the prolific producer is finally stepping out of the studio and into the center of the dancefloor. Renowned music connoisseur and BBC Radio icon, Pete Tong will be joining him on decks this evening.

James Murphy DJ Set at Bardot

The former head of legendary LCD Soundsystem and head honcho of DFA label, James Murphy will be playing a DJ set at Bardot Miami where we can expect to get schooled on some classic disco, house and electro-pop grooves.

Thursday, December 4th

FKA Twigs
National YoungArts Foundation Campus: 2100 Biscayne Blvd.

The intriguing British artist that has taken the industry by storm with her unique style will perform at National Young Arts Foundation and III Points on Thursday, December 4. This singer and professional dancer effortlessly bends and blends a mystic combination of jazz, trip hop and R&B, earning her a Mercury Award for album of the year.

Life and Death, known for their unique dark and melodic sounds, are putting together an impressive showcase in collaboration with PL0T and Poplife featuring some of most exciting names in electronic music. Here Innervisions’ main man Dixon and other popular party instigators Thugfucker, Mind Against, and the ever-evolving Bob Moses will weave through complex layers of different genres, as well as get to hear Valls US debut. Come to Grand Central ready to go deep and expand your mind during this 10 hour affair.

When Pigs Fly by Link Miami Rebel & Verboten
Trade: 1439 Washington Ave. 

This is certainly one of those rare music occurrences where the two floors of Trade will shake when heavyweights Dubfire and Sasha go back-to-back from open to close, while on the bottom floor Brooklyn’s electronic music venue Verboten will have house legend Carl Craig and electronic avant-pop magician Matthew Dear will also be in attendance.

Basel Castle 2014 with Future Islands and Yung Lean & Sad Boys
Overthrow Castle: 41 NW 20th St.

Basel Castle returns with a lineup that will appease all the scenesters seeking a quirky alternative retreat with performances by cult synth-rock band Future Islands, Mykki Blanco and Swedish Internet sensations Yung Lean & Sad Boys who raise debate singing about games and (trite) generation Z fads.

STEAM: 30 NE 14th St.

Now for some more mature entertainment, STEAM located in downtown Miami will offer the perfect vibe to wind down from a week of madness. At this musical exposition the deep house and minimal tech masters Anthony Collins (Scissor & Thread), Nitin (No. 19) and Elon (Resolute NYC) will put your senses at ease.

Sunday, December 7th

Fool’s Gold Records Party
LMNT Lot Miami: 59 NW 36th St.

Fool’s Gold is closing a week long festivities with massive DAY OFF blowout. A-Track and all of his entourage will be properly send ARBM attendings with a proper partying with Danny Brown and Giraffage.
