With numerous festivals happening during the finals days of each year, there are plenty of ways for music fanatics to celebrate New Year's Eve while witnessing their favorite artists serve epic drops and addictive beats. And while a weekend of music is always a good time, many times we crave a little something extra – a cherry on top of all those buzzworthy lineups.

Inspired by the summer music festival vibes we all love – where the freedom and space to roam and choose your own adventure between performances is everything – two-year-old SnowtaNYE, which takes place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the midst of the region's famously frigid winter, places a welcome premium on experiences and activities to complement the music and keep attendees warm and happy. Protected from the outside cold by the walls of the expansive Minneapolis Convention Center, SnowtaNYE brings a true outdoor festival feel to the indoors. Multiple stages – called the Snowta Stage, Gray Duck Stage, the Hideaway Stage, and the Arcade Stage – each offer a distinct vibe to satiate any musical mood, whether you feel like dancing or headbanging.

Although it's still a young festival, SnowtaNYE is already one of the biggest New Year's Eve bashes in the Midwest, welcoming around 6,000 enthusiastic attendees each year. SnowtaNYE's fans keep coming back, because there's more than just music – top caliber acts like Pretty Lights, Gucci Mane, Excision, Post Malone, and Ganja White Night all played this year – on offer. When festival-goers need a break from the music, there are myriad things to get into – just like there would be if you were at your favorite summer festival. Walk from stage to stage, from bar to Vendor Village, and you'll find activities like lively snowboarding competitions and rail jams, an indoor skate park, alien laser tag to work up a sweat, the hilarious spectacle of human bowling, and a massive arcade. Turn a corner and you'll stumble upon live painting and a photo booth.

Suddenly, you're in another choose-your-own-adventure novel, only indoors during a winter festival instead of a sunny summer music festival. But if we hadn't reminded you of that, would you have even noticed?
