Coachella Festival Fashion Forecast

The countdown has begun!  The stylish masses will soon descend upon the Empire Polo Fields for Coachella , the fashion week of festivals. Now in its 14th year (there was a one year hiatus in 2000), Coachella has hit its stride in terms of attracting a fashionable crowd. With approximately 90,000 expected attendees per weekend, there will be plenty of eye-candy, celebrity-spotting and people-watching to go along with the music lineup.  For a street-style warm-up, we asked some movers and shakers about their go-to Coachella outfits. Here are what these influencers plan on wearing and who they look forward to listening to.

Vintage Boho

 

Name: Greta Eagan

Living: Carlsbad, California

Working: Author of Wear No Evil: How to Change the World with Your Wardrobe

Wearing: "I shop secondhand at thrift and consignment stores to create festival worthy outfits on a budget. All pieces are vintage and secondhand. This was actually a skirt pulled up and belted to make a dress. A hat and some interesting jewelry are the must-have finishing accessories.  Boots to keep out the dust and dirt."

Listening: "The 1975 is a band I've recently gotten into that I would be psyched to see at Coachella."

Baller on a Budget 

 

Name: Issa Diop

Living: Portland, Oregon and Dakar, Senegal

Working: Singer/Songwriter/Producer signed to AKON

Wearing: "I am all about looking like a million bucks on a $100 budget. My favorite accessory is my eagle necklace I found in wandering the streets of Paris." Traditional silver Senegalese bracelet, a no-name gold watch, handmade polka dot bow tie, H&M shirt, H&M pants, H&M belt, Vans sneakers.

Listening: "I would trade my eagle necklace for some Aloe Blacc, Ellie Goulding and a little Skrillex at Coachella this year!"

Undone Meets Disco

  

Name: Natalia Ditto

Working:  Director of Marketing at Ditto Public Affairs

Wearing: "Coachella is always a mix of new and old, putting your favorite pieces together in a way that makes sense for the desert." Nina Ricci knit, One Teaspoon shorts, Ivy Kirzhner boots, vintage Russian bracelets, earrings from Brooklyn Flea Market and Bird.

Listening:  "I'm most looking forward to the Pet Shop boys, Lana del Rey, Alunageorge, Outkast and just the whole weekend with friends as an adventure."

Americhella

Name: Hethe Breuer

Living: Newport Beach, California

Working: Creative Director of Craft & Commerce

Wearing: "I would describe my look as Downtown Cool. West Coast Casual." Craft & Commerce slit pocket tee, A PC New Standard's jeans: "They’re a few years old and very loved." Vintage denim shirt, vintage bandana, Rag & Bone hat, John Varvatos Converse Weapons, Persole Sunglasses, David Yurman bracelet and ring, Nordstrom braided leather bracelet.

Listening: "I'm excited to see Big Boi and Andre 3000 (of Outkast) perform together again, as well as Pharell, Arcade Fire, Kid Cudi and Beck."

Wearing: "I like to keep it casual with an edge of sexiness. My staples are vintage tees and bare tanks, denim hot shorts, a beanie for the evenings and boots." All jewelry/accessories by Muses & Rebels.

Listening: "I'm pretty into the whole line up but have a few varied faves: Outkast, Kid Cudi, Aluna George and Disclosure!"

Living: San Francisco, California

Working: Creative Director at Wildlife Works
