We reported yesterday about rumblings of a new camping festival in Colorado, organized by the same folks behind Electric Forest . Today, the official announcement came for the inaugural Vertex Festival , to be held in beautiful Buena Vista, Colorado for three days of camping, music and all-around immersive festie fun.

Back on that music tip, the fest's first-ever lineup definitely sets the bar high. Odesza, Alabama Shakes, the Trey Anastasio Band, and more top the bill; you'll just have to watch the lineup announcement above to get the full bill.

According to Vertex's website, the festival's "vision is inspired by its majestic high elevation home where sky meets peaks, peaks meet valleys, and valleys meet rivers. The venue is nestled in sprawling rangeland at the foot of the Continental Divide and surrounded by the year-round snowcapped 14,000-foot peaks of the Collegiate Mountain Range. The festival site is known as Cottonwood Meadows, a recently revitalized working ranch located a mile from downtown Buena Vista, Colorado in Chaffee County. Cottonwood Creek runs through the campgrounds and the festival site itself."

And festival-goers will be able to take full advantage of the beautiful Cottonwood Creek; river rafting, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, and biking will all be available to augment your experience. Who needs virtual reality, anyway?
