As if Coachella and Stagecoach weren't enough, new rumors arose this past weekend suggesting that Goldenvoice has laid the groundwork for another potential large-scale event in Indio, California.

The Desert Sun reports that although a possible fall festival from Goldenvoice has been talked about for years, the idea only recently gained enough traction to make the news.

In 2013, Indio signed an agreement with Goldenvoice to keep the promotions company's events in the city through 2030, but that same agreement also expanded Goldenvoice's allotted event offerings from three weekends to five weekends, opening the possibility for two more fall events with maximum capacities of 75,000 and 99,000 people. That sounds like a whole new festival to us.

In 2013 when the agreement was first signed, Goldenvoice claimed the clause allowed mostly for wiggle room while negotiating with artists, but city officials now say significant progress has been made. The Desert Sun wrote that Indio Mayor Glenn Miller said that the city has been working with Goldenvoice and "believes that a new event is imminent."

A 2012 report produced by Development Management Group estimated that Stagecoach and Coachella bring in $1.4 million for Indio. With two extra festivals at peak capacity, that number could balloon to $2.7 million — a total boon for the tiny town of Indio.

With Goldenvoice's new Panorama festival already set to kill it in New York this summer and these new rumors, it seems like the promotions company is ready to dominate the American festival scene.
