In a rare festival appearance, Dead & Company has decided to headline LOCKN' in summer 2018. And in true Dead & Company style, it won't be just one set.

Comprised of original members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, as well as beloved John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti, these gods of jam music will dominate two entire nights of the four-day festival, playing four sets in total. Individual members have played LOCKN' a few times before; in 2017, Weir and Phil Lesh delighted fans with a performance of the Grateful Dead's 1977 classic Terrapin Station. However, this marks the first year the group will appear as Dead & Company.

Via Rolling Stone, here's organizer Peter Shapiro's statement on the announcement: "The Grateful Dead played legendary shows at Monterey Pop, the US Festival and Woodstock, but their heyday occurred before the modern music festivals we know today emerged. We are honored to have Dead & Company headline back-to-back nights because it's so rare. This festival was built on the spirit of the Grateful Dead so their performance is going to be a very big deal for Deadheads everywhere."

The rest of LOCKN' 2018 lineup has not been revealed yet, but will be unveiled through social media over the course of the next week, with one new act announced each day beginning on Friday and the full lineup arriving on February 8th.
