It's been 5 years since the record for the World's Largest Group Hug was broken, so it's high time for a new record to be set. So on Friday, June 26th, 2015 at 2:30pm, Electric Forest will attempt to break it again. The record was initially broken by over 10,000 students and teachers from 10 Ottowa-area schools who were hosting a fundraiser for cancer care in Canada in 2010.

Electric Forest's attempt at record-breaking is an outgrowth of the fest's Plug In Program, which encourages attendees to add their own touch of magic to the world. The program aims to reward passion by "elevating a creative soul to be the King or Queen of The Forest, granting stage time to little-known acts, partnering with artists to manifest their first large-scale festival installation and so much more." 

This is exactly why people love Electric Forest so damn much. We can't wait to see if they succeed!
