Beyond the bright lights and the roar of the crowds, there’s something special brewing inside the melting pot of festival culture. Some say it’s a social revolution. Others look at it as a spiritual awakening of sorts. Whatever it is, brilliant academics are talking about the larger impact festivals have on the world, which we explore in Festie TEDX Talks.

Children at Burning Man are always fun to see. The unadulterated glee on their faces as they ride their bikes through the same art and madness that us grown-ups see is delightful. So we couldn't not share this video of one precocious 9-year-old named Julia Wolfe, an impressive young girl who recently spoke at TEDx in Albuquerque about her first Black Rock City experience.

"Imagine a place where you can be exactly who you want to be, without worrying about what other people think. Where you can climb on giant art sculptures, and have LOTS of fun. I found that place... at Burning Man." If you read that on paper, you'd be surprised to find out that it's the astute observation of a 9-year-old girl giving a TED talk.

Throughout her speech, she engages the crowd, and clears up any misconceptions the older, less wise audience members might have about the event.

Burning Man is based around 10 Core principles and Miss Wolfe shares her favorite four with us. We could all probably use some refreshing when it comes to these principles, especially as the Individual Ticket Sale date descends upon us.

Watching this little girl discuss Burning Man as an event that welcomes all and changes the lives of most is getting us VERY excited for our next burn... you go girl! Hope to see you there.
