For a lot of festies, it's all about the view, and there's no limit to how high you'll go to get the best. Climb Meditation Hill at Lightning in a Bottle for a sunset perch. Strap on those rain boots and get to the front of Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage. Climb The Minaret at Burning Man. Clamor into a carriage that lifts you several stories from solid ground, and you're one of the lucky festies who gets to see it all at the hands of a Ferris wheel.

Festival Ferris wheels tower above the bustling grounds in daylight, and once that sun goes down, the steel wheel outlines the sky with pulsating neon light. If you've always wanted to ride one, but the waiting in lines and/or towering heights aren't your thing, fear not! Your fellow festies have soared towards the sky and captured the sights along the way. Grab a friend, lover, or stranger, get in the carriage. Let's whirl around!

Electric Forest, Rothbury, Michigan

A visual extravaganza whether you're on the ground or in the sky, Electric Forest is an enchanting woodland fantasy. On the Ferris wheel you'll catch a snazzy view of the Tripolee Stage in illuminated wonder, complete with beats and light shows punctuating your sky-high voyage.  Much of Electric Forest's magic is found in those small twists, loopy turns and hidden corners of the Sherwood Forest, and a view from the top means you can enjoy watching your #forestfam enjoy themselves, too.

Electronic music festivals deploy Ferris wheels as a spectacle to gaze upon the rest of the spectacle. Tomorrowland is no exception. As Europe's biggest electronic music festival, the festival is a trippy extravaganza with no shortage of dazzling lights and art installations best taken in from the top.

It would probably be a challenge to find a picture of Coachella's skyline without a glimpse of its iconic ferris wheel, "Le Grande Wheel." The view, 150 feet (15 stories) above the Empire Polo Grounds, is spectacular and a tad frightening. This one is NOT for anyone afraid of heights, that's for sure. Although, we can only imagine how gorgeous that sunset must look once at the top.

Bonnaroo, Manchester, Tennessee

One of the views from the Ferris wheel we finally rode!!

The Ferris wheel stands out in the already delightfully crowded field of Bonnaroo's vibetastic offerings. It's just one more way to get high in that Tennessee oasis of southern hospitality, jam-band camaraderie and summer camp vibe.

Woah. Just, woah. Whatever line you have to wait in to ride that Ferris wheel, we'd do it. Happily.

Treasure Island Music Festival, San Francisco, California

Treasure Island Music Festival is a lovely little festival on an island in the middle of the San Francisco Bay, and your view atop the Ferris wheel is equally as lovely. View the gorgeous San Francisco skyline, with the Bay Bridge to your right and the Golden Gate Bridge off in the distance to your far right. Not to mention the bird's eye-view you get of the two bustling stages, the Silent Disco, funky vendor stands, and mouth-watering smells from the paella stand. Not too shabby.
