Kids say the darndest things, right? Well it turns out that they’re pretty clear on what they want and it’s all about the simple things. I spent the weekend at the UK’s biggest family festival, Camp Bestival , the little sister of the popular Bestival which takes place later this summer. While enjoying the laid-back family vibes, I had a few pleasant conversations with England’s children on a very serious subject: the meaning of life. These are their answers:

Ettie: They look after me. They love me and I love them back. And food is sooo nice. Food it my best friend.
Fest300: So the meaning of life is family and food?

Fest300: What is the meaning of life?
Kim: The meaning of it? I dunno.
Fest300: Have you ever thought about?
Kim: Yes. It’s hard to explain. I like climbing.
Fest300: Why do you think there are so many humans here?
Kim: Because animals can’t talk and learn what things are. We can communicate and animals can but not by talking.

Fest300: What is the meaning of life?
Max: Just to live it and you don’t really know but you only live once so you have to make the most of it.
Fest300: How do you make the most of it?
Max: Just to say if you don’t want to do something, but you can just get on with it. You don’t have to be scared to ask for help.

Fest300: What is the meaning of life?
Fluer: To have fun and follow your dreams.
Fest300: What’s your dream?
Fluer: To become an architect. I like designing things so I’d really like to design a building and build it. A building that’s quite modern but its really nice and there’s a lot of glass paneling. I watch programs with mummy and daddy and what is on the program is a lot of glass paneling and I quite like that so I’d like to build that myself.
