Austin City Limits , one of the biggest late-season music festivals in the country, dominated the Texan city last weekend for its first phase. Over 75,000 people converged at Zilker Park under cloudless skies to rage to everything from the Foo Fighters to Run the Jewels, to The Weeknd to Halsey, Drake, and deadmau5. Echoing the festival's previous devotion to aging legends, Billy Idol and Dwight Yoakam brought the house down as the sun came down. While it often draws comparisons to Lollapalooza due to its staunch devotion to music, ACL's true heart lies in its down-home vibe, where smiles abound and comfort food in the form of world-class BBQ and southern cuisine rule the festival grounds.
