Life Is Beautiful has always captured the wild and carefree vibe of downtown Las Vegas through its bombastic and eclectic musical lineups, its colorful, edgy art, and atmosphere of honoring the past while reveling in the possibilities of the future.
Yes, its headliners such Chance The Rapper, Muse, Gorillaz, Lorde, Blink-182, The xx, HAIM, Kaskade, and Pretty Lights, Cage The Elephant and SchoolBoy Q are the kinds of larger-than-life names that pay the bills, but attendees are treated to so much more once they walk onto the festival's grounds. Its amazing array of visual and interactive art in tons of different mediums is something that is integrated into Vegas's urban fabric to create year-round conversation on the impact of civic art. Life Is Beautiful's Ideas series – which this year featured scientist and pop culture icon Bill Nye, YouTube star and entrepreneur Bethany Mota, and musician Rachel Platten – adds depth to the festival's program with thought-provoking talks. Cirque du Soleil adds that jaw-dropping, oh-so-Vegas showmanship for which the city is famous. And of course, no Vegas festival would be complete without a salute to the city's excellent food scene and legacy of drinking and partying; Life Is Beautiful food program honors that by featuring over 40 local eateries, chefs and mixologists across four individual Culinary Villages. Immersed in the neon-lit, historic glory of old Las Vegas and showered in desert sun, Life Is Beautiful is about as quintessentially Las Vegas as a festival can be.
