Around 9 pm CST on Thursday night, Lollapalooza evacuated nearly 100,000 attendees from Chicago's Grant Park due to severe thunderstorms rolling into the area. As Chicago's largest public park, Grant Park is an open-air and particularly susceptible to lightning strikes and overall dangerous conditions.
Thursday night headliner Lorde was abruptly pulled from stage. Watch as the pop singer delivers the news that her set has been cut short.

Along with Lorde, British rockers Muse were also forced to halt their show. Lead singer Matt Bellamy took to Twitter to share his despair at the news.
Gutted. City/police made us leave the stage tonight 3 songs in at #Lollapalooza . Due to weather/lightning. Nightmare!

Weekend cancellations are unlikely, as the forecast shows no impending thunderstorms. Hopefully, tonight's chaos will be long gone by tomorrow and a clear and easy Lolla weekend lies ahead.
Be sure to tune into the festival's livestream on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for sets from the likes of Blink-182, Teagan and Sara, Foster the People, The Killers, Crystal Castles, Mac DeMarco, Little Dragon, Justice and Sylvan Esso.
