Who'd have thought Medieval vibes and bombastic dance music and hip-hop would've made such a match? Insomniac's and C3's newest festival, Middlelands , proved it could be done last weekend by bringing dance music fiends to Todd Mission, Texas, where the Texas Renaissance Festival usually takes place and adding castles, jesters, maidens, and crowned noblemen into the mix.

In classic Insomniac style, the production was out of this world, and true to C3's roots (it produces Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and more), the expert mashup of genres kept everyone dancing all weekend.

Enjoy the zesty photos below of Middlelands' first year, courtesy of Insomniac.
