Some festivals are really great at making you feel like a part of the family, and Motion Notion is one of them. For the past sixteen years and counting, Canada's Rocky Mountain range has played host to the intimate July event (with attendance around 5,000), and the fam shows no signs of stopping. This charming aftermovie unfolds with snaps of fun-loving party people, glistening river currents from a bird's eye view, and the festival crew getting to know their fans. It doesn't take long to chat with attendees to find effusive praise for the tight-knit, community vibes Motion Notion encourages, and how it's just small enough to get to strangers talking with each other making new connections. That's a big draw for those who don't have the chance to foster those new connections in daily life.

It's not just bass on the river at Motion Notion, though. The fest  offers a robust roster of activities outside the tuneage, like acroyoga, eclectic vendors, mouth-watering eats and a costume game to rival heavy hitters like Desert Hearts or  Shambhala Music Festival (at British Columbia's Salmo River Ranch, a five-hour drive away).  You'll hear from Krafty Kuts, Doctor Werewolf and Adam Shaikh, who says the festival "represents something mainstream society doesn't represent." Between the shining faces, the joyous children running around, and the impromptu acroyoga sessions that pop up all over the Beaverfoot Lodge, everything at Motion Notion feels fresh.

2017's lineup announcement is on its way! Stay tuned to Everfest for the latest. Motion Notion is in Golden, BC, Canada from August 24 - 28, 2017. Tickets are available here
