Sasquatch!’s 2018 lineup was magical on its own, but being complemented by the almost otherworldly backdrop of the Columbia River Gorge took the entire experience to the next level.
Perhaps aided by the natural beauty of Sasquatch's setting, vibes remained high at the festival all weekend. After a painless entry marked by friendly staff and security, I positioned myself into my new neighborhood; a mixture of disco buses, vans, pop-up bars and BBQs, the location was central to an eclectic group of funny, friendly and caring neighbors, all excited to see and share the musical experience that awaited us. As always, Sasquatch's curated lineup provided the perfect combination of older and newer acts, with wiggle room to catch unexpectedly awesome sets at any one of the different stages, all of which were within close proximity to one another. Highlights of the weekend included David Byrne, Bon Iver, Modest Mouse, Lizzo, Jai Wolf, TOKiMONSTA, Explosions in the Sky, Slowdive, Spoon, Julien Baker, Ray LaMontagne, Anderson .Paak, Grizzly Bear, and many more.
When the long weekend ended, leaving proved difficult: cleaning up our amazing campground, saying my goodbyes with my legs sore but stronger from walking and dancing, my phone filled with new friends' digits and photos, and my mind singing songs I'd seen performed in the previous days. Throughout the drive home, a smile remained on my face knowing I had my camera filled with moments to share. Below are photos of the people, sights, and sounds that captured my Sasquatch! journey.
