The Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF), which hits its five-year anniversary November 11 to 15, has become ever-adept at blending the worlds of wine food and film, and this year is no exception. The fest provides an abundance of reasons to sip, swirl and celebrate in between screen talk, with events strewn up and down the valley from Napa to Calistoga. Each town boasts a bevy of entertainment, from filmmaker panels and eclectic screening venues (including an airport hangar) to wine tastings and foodie finds.

Take the Ferguson Culinary Stage and Variety's 10 to Taste chef smackdown, with Bobby Flay as a slated panelist, where participants will conjure dishes from iconic film food scenes. There's even a way for football fiends to rubberneck when the Superbowl 50 Lombardi Trophy Tour makes a pit stop at this year's fest, and that's just a smattering of what's in store.

While Tinsel Town has its sparkling stars, NVFF flaunts its assets with 125 new indies, 300 filmmakers and film industry guests, 150 wineries, 30 chefs, countless culinary demonstrations, wine tasting pavilions and more. For those who enjoy red carpet struts, the fest is ready to wow, with star studded events, winemaker dinners, galas, late-night after parties and celebrity tributes, all tucked in between those Napa Valley grapevines.

NVFF continues to draw visitors from around the globe, each looking to raise goblet and fork to mouth in the name of fabulous films, many which vie to make their world premiere at the festival. Check out these five stunners set to make their debut in the spotlight at this year's fest. Star swooning is sure to follow.

Life on the Line

This touching family film with John Travolta and Sharon Stone follows Travolta's character Beau, an electrical lineman, who is forced to take his eccentric crew into the eye of a mega storm that's about to strike. It's all the more harrowing once we find out his brother died of electrocution on the job years before, forcing Beau into the unexpected role of caregiver for his niece Bailey (played by Kate Bosworth). As the storm approaches he wrestles with his past to forge a better future for Bailey and his fellow linemen. Travolta will sit down for an up close and personal with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush at Friday night's Celebrity Tribute. Life on the Line makes its world premiere on Saturday, at Lincoln Theater, in Yountville.

The Submarine Kid

This is a spirited flick that takes a fantastical look at post-traumatic stress, which mounts when Spencer (played by Tribute honoree Finn Wittrock), is discharged from active duty in Afghanistan. He returns to everyday life, and finds it to be anything but. As Spencer slowly loses touch with the reality of his civilian life, he seeks refuge in an imagined world that revolves around an intriguing woman and a hero dubbed "The Submarine Kid." Superb acting and surreal dream sequences make this film a standout. The world premiere showing screens on Thursday, at City Winery, in downtown Napa.

The Little Firemen (Los Bomberos)

The Little Firemen (Film Still)

This harrowing Spanish-language documentary follows a band of boys who brave an active terrorist zone along a perilous Peruvian road, doing whatever it takes to save lives along the way. The striking cinematography invokes a gripping sense of place along a road not often traveled. The film's world premiere is on Thursday, at the Gliderport, in Calistoga.

The Family Next Door

He was the star football player, she a cheerleader. Their union was a given, and so was happily ever after, until their storybook life turned upside down when two of the Lund's three children were diagnosed with severe cases of autism. The film unfolds in a way that is as heartbreaking as it is relevant, touching anyone who has ever been affected by a life-altering diagnosis and a hope to move beyond it. Expect an emotional Q&A with family members and an outpouring from the autistic community at the world premiere slated for Wednesday, at The Library, in downtown Napa.

Somm: Into the Bottle

This leggy flick picks up where its predecessor, SOMM (which premiered last year) left off, with a deep dive into the illustrious world of wine pop culture. Viewers will leave with a true sense of the vine-to-cellar-to-table metamorphosis that is wine, as told by some of the world's most sought after Master Sommeliers. Expect discussions to swirl over anything and everything it takes to make the bests wines on Earth. More than 100 sommeliers are expected to walk the red carpet along with Bobby Flay and a colorful cast of unexpected characters at the world premiere screening Wednesday, at the Uptown, in downtown Napa.
