The sun was shining for Governors Ball, held on Randall's Island, and a solid showing of artists and characters reveled in the good weather and bright tunes, dancing the clouds away. Here are some of our favorite moments from New York's rocking summer festival.
Empire of the Sun went off...
...and they brought some guitar players from the moon.
Apparently smashing guitars is still quite smashing.
Speaking of the sun, the weather was perfect.
There were plenty of cans of Foster’s to hydrate with.
GovBall brought out the fashionable...
...even the New York fashion fairies were in attendance.
Not only can the Bloody Beetroots put on an awesome live show...
...but it’s epic music to crowd surf to while riding a dolphin. Who knew?
Grimes put on quite a show...
...so did La Roux.
The Glitch Mob rocked the Blade.
Damian Marley’s fans were happy (like, really happy).
Skrillex’s fans were out-of-this-world...
...as was Sonny himself.
Jack White knows how to rock.
Disclosure got the crowd dancing.
Fireworks are always an epic way to end a festival.
While the festival ended early, New York never sleeps.
We love New York, and Governors Ball!
