Like a mirage out of the Moroccan desert, Oasis Festival rose this past weekend once again in a flurry of sunshine, beats, and pool floaties. As a far-flung destination festival nestled in the warm arms of Marrakech, Morrocco, the second-year event attracted a decidedly international crowd (we're talking from 25 countries!) of both festival-goers and performers to picturesque The Source music resort to groove to music and experience the lush desert beauty of its host culture.

Heavyweight performers graced The Source's multiple stages, from techno pioneer Jeff Mills to Dixon, The Black Madonna, Omar Souleyman, Derrick May, Maya Jane Coles, Helena Hauff, Tale of Us, David August, Booka Shade, Job Jobse, Hunee, and many more, making the voyage there worth every penny and then some.

Aside from the extensive music programming, the exotic Moroccan location also offered attendees a rich taste of Moroccan culture, with daily yoga and meditation classes, live painting, street art, henna and reflexology. Some of city’s most celebrated restaurants, including Café des Épices and Nomad, also brought the exotic tastes and rich aromas of the Medina to this year’s edition. Plus, the Secret Souk also returned for 2016, with another specially curated collection of Moroccan treasures selected by fashion designer and stylist team Nicole Francesca Manfron and Jasmien Hamed. With stage-side swimming pools, lush gardens and stunning views of the nearby Atlas Mountains, it was a true festival paradise.
