Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain keeps on growing. It sold out earlier than ever this year, thanks in part to Radiohead's first festival appearance in half a decade. The rest of this music festival behemoth's lineup did not disappoint, either. LCD Soundsystem's two-hour-long, ultra-energized performance set the stage for other epic performances to come, from the likes of Peaches, Tame Impala, legendary Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds for the first time in Europe, Beach House, Vince Staples, Deerhunter, and Air, as well as dozens of performances by European and Catalan acts.
Primavera Sound's venue, near Barcelona's sun-drenched waterfront, is The Parc del Fòrum, which is almost as much a star as the festival's music. It's a massive 187,000 square meters of walking space, with thirteen stages sprinkled throughout, and a brand new Beach Club venue – which hosted many dancey disco parties – across a long bridge that looks like an idyllic paradise straight out of a postcard.
Despite the fact that it sold out, the festival still took care of its own by providing tons of free music around beautiful Barcelona for loyal fans who didn't get tickets in time. That's how much Primavera Sound cares about bringing the best music in the world to its attendees.
