California Roots Music & Arts Festival takes inspiration from the massive musical explosion and shift in consciousness synonymous with late-1960s California counterculture; it is held on the very same spot where the groundbreaking Monterey International Pop Festival made history in 1967, after all. But don’t be fooled by the name: It’s not all about California bands, nor is it just about roots reggae.
