Thousands of costumed snow and ski-loving revelers met up in the mountains of Mayrhofen, Austria last week for Snowbombing Austria, arguably the world's hottest winter festival. A weeklong fest packed with pow and parties, 2018 was a particularly great one; weather gods gifted the fest with "the best snowfall in the Alps in over six years."
Snowbombers make the most of the luscious mountainside locale, with party spots cropping up all the way from sky-high igloos, to open-air forest raves and backcountry lumberjack bashes. This year's epic parties included Liam Gallagher's "Forest Party," exclusive sets inside the Arctic Disco, underground raves at Arena, board park sessions featuring actor-turned-DJ Idris Elba and Jeremy Underground, the annual "Street Party," noteworthy as "Europe's largest outdoor fancy dress party" with headliner Craig David, "Boingo's Bingo," and sets from Mr. Motivator, Peggy Gou B2B Artwork and more.
Snowbombing is the real deal, folks. You're skiing or snowboarding in one of Europe’s finest ski areas, unwinding in luxurious spas in the Austrian Alps, carousing in a multitude of themed parties with both performers and artists alike, and experiencing the exhilarating natural beauty that can only be found in the mountains.
