In Photos: Splashy Fen Music Festival Is All About Good Vibes
As the long Easter weekend began, so too did the traditional pilgrimage of thousands of music-loving fans to the picturesque mountains of the Southern Drakensberg in South Africa for the 28th annual Splashy Fen Music Festival .
Splashy Fen is the oldest and longest running music festival in South Africa – and year after year, tales of its great vibes spread, and attendance grows. With a natural amphitheater providing excellent acoustics, breathtaking mountain vistas, a winding river, and lots of fields for camping, the farm is perfect for a music festival and its world-class entertainment offerings. This year, the Splashy Fen's 5,500 festival-goers enjoyed new art installations, a craft brewery and gin station, graffiti walls, workshops, an on-site wedding, the Splashy Fen Splashion Show (encouraging festies to don their wackiest costumes for prizes), marketplaces, two new stage areas, and perhaps its biggest lineup yet featuring international stars and hometown heroes like Michael Franti, The Temper Trap, Veranda Pandas, Jeremy Loops, Springbok Nude Girls, The Parlotones, Shortstraw, and many more.
