Celebrating its seventh birthday this year, t he Disposable Film Festival is gearing up for another run in San Francisco. The festival was created as a response to the "democratization of cinema made possible by low cost video technology: everyday equipment like mobile phones, pocket cameras, DSLRs and other inexpesnive devices," which is really just a fancy way of saying that in today's day and age, anyone with an iPhone in their pocket could be the next Jean-Luc Godard.

That said, if you want to be in the festival, you'll need to bring your A-game. These are much more than just glorified cat videos, these are movies that are changing the landscape of modern cinema. Check out the trailer, and if you're in the Bay Area March 20-23, come see the films (tickets here), attend a workshop or panel, and get inspired to DIY.
