Parachuting? Check.

Flying? Check.

Free-falling? Check.

Wheel-driven entry? Check.

Hang gliding? Check.

Naturally, the ultimate in alternative gatherings also has a colorful history of alternative entry methods.

Now, someone's finally gone and successfully recorded entry into Burning Man by hang gliding. On his second attempt (he landed short the first time), Kurtis Carter became the first person to arrive in Black Rock City via "unpowered flight." Cameras strapped to his wings recorded the six-hour, wind-led journey and the resulting video delivers a captivating bird's-eye-view of the playa.

After the 24 hours many of us spent in traffic last year, descending onto the playa after 6 hours in a cocoon harness with two aerodynamic wings seems like a pretty sweet deal. Why stay strapped in a boring car when flying is an option?
