Whether you are a seasoned festie who loves multi-day camping festivals or new to it all, there are always things that can make your time at the festival – camping or not – just a little bit better. Lucky for you, we found five items that will increase your comfort and enhance your festival experience overall.

1. Collapsible Solar Lights

Collapsible solar lights from MPOWERD and LuminAID are both flashlights and ambience-creating lanterns rolled into one. You can use them to illuminate your tent and light the way to the dance floor or bathroom. The Luci Aura and LuminAID Packlite Spectra are color-changing party lights (perfect for festivals), while both makers' more basic versions act as versatile lighting options.

They are both expandable, so they can collapse flat and fit into any bag. And bonus, they're weatherproof, so there’s no need to worry about leaving them out in the rain or getting sprayed with water while dancing in the crowd.

2. Nasal Filters

Dust masks and bandanas can look cool, but they can be really annoying if you’re trying to hold a conversation or have a drink. It can also be tough to get them to stay put. Nasal filters from Nosk or Rhinix improve the quality of air you breathe by filtering dust, smog, pollen, and other ultra-fine particles. They are comfortable and fit discreetly inside your nostrils.

3. Wearable Sleeping Bags

Do you shudder at the thought of having to get out of your sleeping bag to hoof it all the way to the bathroom? Temperatures can drop to 40 or below at night at festivals and once you’re all cozy in your tent, leaving that warm nest can be traumatizing. Well, not anymore with this incredible, wearable sleeping bag known as the evrgrn Crash Sack. It opens up for your arms and legs so you can stay mobile while still technically in your sleeping bag. Problem solved!

Alite Designs also has a similar style, known as the Sexy Hotness sleeping bag.

4. A Portable Ashtray

If you’re a smoker, this beautiful portable ashtray from BeClayzy's Etsy store makes it easy to not litter your butts. It has a keychain so it can easily be hooked on to any backpack, belt loop or utility belt. This one also has a place to rest your cigarette if you are sitting down with some friends and want to set it down for a moment.

There is also a soft pouch option from Kiipr that blocks odor and fits easily into any pocket.

Even if you are not a smoker, having a small metal container can be really useful to keep small pieces of trash such as gum wrappers. You can also make a MOOP container (matter out of place) out of an Altoid tin if you don’t care about the keychain function.

5. Lavender Oil

Alright, so most of you have probably heard of lavender oil – but did you know all the ways you can use it? Here's what makes it an essential: You can use it to help heal any cuts or bug bites, or rub it on your temples to relieve headache. It can be used as a sleep aid when rubbed on your head or on your pillow – and we all know how hard it can be to fall asleep at a festival. If you have muscle pain from dancing and walking around all day, you can mix it with a carrier oil to relieve pain. And no matter what your state of mind, several drops of lavender oil will ease your mind and calm you down.

Adrienne Victoria sustainably grows and distills her own lavender essential oil on a farm in Half Moon Bay. She sells her Lavender Feels Forever products in a few different forms from an oil stick to a hydrosol. She even sells it in a gorgeous heart-shaped vial that you can wear around your neck, ensuring it's always around when you need it.
