Film festivals aren't just about art house films and cinematic snobbery. At their best, film festivals are just about showcasing great films and sharing great movie-going experiences with the community. So when a movie about Electric Daisy Carnival was screened at Sundance this year, people didn't turn their noses up at it, they cheered it on.

While no distribution partner has been chosen yet, Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac Events (which has been producing EDC for 17 years), says that the movie should hit theaters this spring. Sounds like the perfect way to get people psyched before the festival returns to Las Vegas this June.

If you can't wait until spring for the movie (or the festival), check out this clip of the producers discussing how it all came about, watch the short but inspiring press clip, and see Rotella's Instagram for photos of the party thrown at Sundance to celebrate the success of the screening. After all, what would a movie about EDC be without an after-party?
