Breaking glass and anguished screams. A dismembered arm clutching a golf ball. A galloping horse, who apparently steps on a cat. Just another day in the life for David Lynch, who kicked off the Twin Peaks panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego last weekend with a video full of cryptic yet lighthearted vignettes. In this intro video's quick two minutes, which can be viewed above, Lynch sits in front of the camera to greet the crowd, then disappears and reappears several times as he spars with ghosts, wild horses and intruders – all offscreen.

Lynch has a lot on his plate this summer. Besides launching that new season of Twin Peaks (seventeen years since it first aired), he’s readying for the second installment of the Festival of Disruption , his passion project taking place October 14-15, 2017 at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Billed as an event to raise awareness for transcendental meditation, the auteur has enlisted musicians Bon Iver, TV on the Radio, Laura Marling, The Kills to headline; DJ sets from Moby and Shepard Fairey (the artist responsible for those "OBEY" posters); talks with legendary Americana photographer Ed Ruscha and actor Bill Pullman; and screenings of "Lost Highway," in addition to some of his rare short films.
