Thailand has long claimed the "backpacker's paradise" title, and but with the fast rise of the two-year-old Wonderfruit Festival , the Southeast Asian country is soon to be a festival-lover's paradise, too. The festival, being hailed as Thailand's "socially-conscious, eco-friendly version of Coachella," will unfold for the second time amongst the plantation fields of Pattaya in the southern Chonburi Province between December 17-20, 2015 – perfect for anyone who wants to spend their winter in the tropics.

To get you even more excited for this young Thai festival, a second round of performers has just been added to the docket (the first round lineup unveiled The Faint, Submotion Orchestra, Howie B and Dapayk Solo), which includes legendary hip-hop artist Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), R&B duo Rhye, and the fire-breathing cirque performers of Lucent Dossier Experience. The international line up also includes Heartthrob, Elektro Guzzi, Daedelus, Goldroom, Viceroy, Catching Flies, Com Truise, Papercutz, Anchorsong, Arjun Vagale, Ocean Lam and Gaby Endo. Native Thai artists featured on the bill include Pongsit Kampee, Greasy Cafe, Boy Thai, Kidnappers, and Dan Buri. If all of this audiovisual splendor wasn't enough for you, the fest will also be host to the world premiere of Jon Hopkins x Chris Levine’s collaboration, iy_project.

Wonderfruit's official trailer also dropped today, which you should definitely view above for a taste of what awaits you across the globe.

It's surprising that it's taken so long for such a gorgeous, travel-friendly country to have a music festival like this, but with a progressive ethos striving to  "bring communities together in Thailand, to nurture collaborative, creative cultures and inspire celebration of the arts and the adventure of sustainable living," Wonderfruit is a thoughtfully planned experience that's been worth the wait. Pillars include art, music, health and wellness, talks and workshops, natural adventures, and dedicated "farm to feast" food offerings.
